A guide to our non-probate costs

This is a guide to the costs of our most popular services and VAT is at a rate of 20% at the time of this article: 

1. Wills
Simple Wills (estates usually less than £325,000)
• Single Will starting at £650 plus VAT
• Mirror Wills starting at £975 plus VAT (spouses).
Complex Wills
 Beneficiary issues/ delaying or protecting gifts
 Business/ agricultural assets
 Using Trusts for tax or asset planning
 Complexities with family situations
• Single complex Will from £975 plus VAT • Couple complex mirror Wills from £1,625 plus VAT
Codicils – only for minor alterations to Wills From £250 plus VAT.

2. Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
• Single LPA £450 + VAT plus Court fee of £92 (either Health & Welfare or Finance) OR BOTH for £750 plus VAT plus Court fee of £184.
• LPAs for a couple £750 plus VAT plus Court Fee of £184 (either Health & Welfare or Finance) OR all FOUR documents for £1,300 plus VAT plus Court fee of £368.


3 Tax Planning and Trusts
Our tax planning services are bespoke, so depend upon the complexity of the trust/ time required:
• Trusts - £1,625 to £2,275 plus VAT for creation of a Trust.
• £225 plus VAT for registration of a trust with HMRC Trusts Registration Service.
We deal with discretionary trusts, bare trusts, vulnerable beneficiary trusts, interest in possession trusts and Will Trusts. In short, Rogers Legal is a specialist practice.


4. Declaration of Property Trusts
If you have an interest in a property that you want to protect, a Declaration of Trust will document your interest. It can show what will happen upon sale/transfer/death; it sets out the rules between owners.
• Basic Declaration of Trust starting at £480 plus VAT
• Complex Declaration of Trust £975 plus VAT (usually involving tax planning).

Registration of a trust with the Trust Registration Service of HMRC - fixed fee of £225 + VAT


5. Severance of Joint Tenancy
• Severance of joint tenancy of a registered title is £150 plus VAT plus disbursement of £6, land registry fees.
• Severance of joint tenancy of unregistered title starts at £200 plus VAT plus Land Registry fees according to property value.

Please note it is a policy of Rogers Legal that we ask for funds on account of approximately £500 when taking instructions before commencing our legal services. We also ask for funds to pay Court Fees, Land Registry fees or other disbursements in advance.

Home visits may be possible, but could incur a fee depending on the circumstances, but please ask.
